Signed first professional contract at the age of eight
Anders Vejrgang in eSports or Youssoufa Moukoko in real football. Both are currently the biggest and also youngest talents in their genres. But outside of the soccer bubble, athletes are getting younger.
The 8-year-old Fortnite player "33 Gosu" has signed his first professional contract with "Team 33". He will earn $33,000 a year in the future. He has also received an equipment voucher worth US$5,000. What madness!
Joseph Deen, who is known by his nickname "Gosu", said about his first professional contract: "It's a dream come true for me". Joseph Deen has already been training with the professional team for two years.
However, Deen will not participate in any professional tournament for the next few years. For that, he has to be at least 13 years old!
However, the signing of the contract was not only received positively. eSports lawyer Ryan Fairchild criticised the signing of the contract via Twitter:
"We are very excited to have Joseph on our exclusive Team 33 roster," reports Tyler Gallagher, Founder of Team 33. "We have been secretly scouting talent for our roster and players over the past few years and are proud to have officially signed Joseph. We've made it a point to train Joseph over the past few years because young players are the future, and we want to develop them early."
Team33 has a luxury training camp in Los Angeles. Team33 plays not only Fortnite but also FIFA21. However, they haven't announced the FIFA team yet. So far, they are just flaunting celebrities supporting Team33.
