SV Wehen Wiesbaden footballer and eSportsman Sascha Mockenhaupt excels at the start of the year

You can't start the new year any better than professional footballer and eSportsman Sascha Mockenhaupt did. Last weekend, he became the first German professional footballer to win 30 games in the FUT Weekend League after Nuremberg pro Tom Krauss at the beginning of November. "M-Ocki" was one of the 100 best players in the world, finishing just behind RB Leipzig's Anders Verjgang, who is 360-0, and ahead of BVB eSports player "Eldos". Afterwards, he expressed his emotions, tweeting, "Just dropped the bomb. I can't put it into words. 30-0!"

Not even 24 hours later, Mockenhaupt showed that the success of the weekend was no coincidence. The stage for this was the "EligellaCup" organised by the Youtuber and content creator of Hertha BSC, Elias Nerlich, with an average of more than 40,000 spectators. "M-Ocki" beat 15 other professional footballers, including the defending champion and the aforementioned Tom Krauss, to win the prize money of 2,000 euros.
"He breaks his opponents mentally", is how tournament organiser Elias Nerlich described Mockenhaupt, referring to the 29-year-old's style of play. In doing so, he tries not to let his opponents get the ball and holds the ball for most of the game without making a risky pass. For one or the other opponent, this resembles time play, which is why "M-ocki's" style of play leads to mental failure for many.
