1st FC Heidenheim wins the VBL

1. FC Heidenheim is the winner of the Virtual Bundesliga 2020/2021. After the FCH had a sovereign victory against 1. FC Köln with two wins, they beat FC St. Pauli in the final.

 

Already in the regular season, the Heidenheim team made their title ambitions clear. With the 2nd place in the VBL South-East they booked their ticket for a direct participation in the final round. Here they continued their run of form on Saturday, impressing in the group stage of the final round with 18 points and thus 1st place in Group A. Above all, a strong offensive procured the FCH the group victory. With their 18 goals scored, they scored more times than any other remaining team.

 

In the semifinals, the Heidenheimers made short work of it and qualified for the finals after two wins. Denis 'Denis' Müller and Serhat 'Serhatinho01' played the opening doubles against Tim 'TheStrxngeR' Katnawatos and Michael 'Phenomeno' Gherman. Here, after trailing 0:1, they managed to win the match 2-1. Afterwards, Öztürk and Gherman met in the singles on Xbox 1. Öztürk immediately used the first match point and brought the Heidenheimers into the final with a convincing 2:0 victory.

 

FCH also put in a strong performance in the final. In the doubles, Öztürk and Müller once again prevailed 2:1. After leading 2:0, St. Pauli countered in the 80th minute of the match with the final goal, but it was not enough for a draw. In the following single Müller prevailed against Erol 'Erol_96X ' Bernhardt and won 2:0 at the Playstation 4.

 

Overall, the Heidenheimers played an outstanding season with many highlights.
